Weekends - Treatments and Classes
Aromatherapy
Practitioners: Caroline Minnis, Jay Erice
Aromatic plants have been used for therapeutic
purposes for over 4000 years. Aromatherapy
makes extensive use
of essential oils to promote and maintain
good health on a mental, physical, and
spiritual level.
In addition
to promoting a feeling of well-being
and balance, Aromatherapy can alleviate symptoms
associated
with headaches, insomnia,
depression, muscular inflammation, and
much more. Caroline will be offering Aromatherapy
Massage,
together with
a range of Caroma-Care Skin and Hair
Products made from natural ingredients and 100% pure
Essential Oils.
Caroline Minnis holds an internationally
recognised qualification in Aromatherapy
Massage, and has
been practising massage in Brighton for
five years. Caroline
uses a person-centred, holistic approach,
addressing both the physical and emotional
needs of her
clients. It is Caroline's belief that
profound inner changes
can be brought about through the client's
own willingness to heal. From this start
point, physical
health and
well-being can be achieved.

Reflexology
Practitioners: Fiona Houghton, Josh Patel
Reflexology is a gentle, yet effective, form of therapeutic foot massage. In Reflexology, the feet represent a microcosm of the whole body so that, by applying pressure to the feet, the reflexologist balances the body's energy and moves obstacles in the path to self-healing. Like Aromatherapy, Reflexology is a powerful therapy that works at all levels to leave the client feeling relaxed and more energised. Used in conjunction with a balanced diet and regular exercise, Reflexology is effective in stimulating the body's immune system.
Massage
Practitioners: Fiona Houghton, Bettina Horvat, Christine Edney, Jay Erice
Massage works by manipulating the body's muscles and tissues to relax the body, oxygenate the tissues, and promote a general feeling of well-being. We are fortunate to have a number of gifted massage therapists who will be joining us for the Retreat Weekends this year.
Indian Head Massage
Practitioners: Margaret Wilson, Josh Patel
Indian Head Massage has been practised for over 1000 years. The treatment focuses on the upper back, shoulders, neck, scalp and face, and brings relief from headaches, eye strain, stress, and tension.

Shiatsu
Practitioner: David Morgan Jones, Bettina Horvat
Shiatsu, or Japanese Massage, is a wonderful combination of energising and relaxing techniques that work holistically on the entire body. Shiatsu is done fully clothed, and the massage is individually tailored to the client’s needs. Whether this is dynamic deep tissue style, or a gentle, nourishing treatment, shiatsu can offer something to everyone. Utilising hands, elbows, arms and feet, Shiatsu is applied in a flowing sequence of movements. Shiatsu is greatly beneficial for physical conditions such as muscle tension, headache, backache, sciatica, and repetitive strain injury. Shiatsu is also effective for emotional conditions such as depression, anger, frustration and sadness. Of course, one can experience Shiatsu simply to relax and enjoy!

Chakra Balancing
Practitioner: Margaret Wilson, Josh Patel
The chakras (wheel in Sanskrit) are the seven main energy centres of the body which absorb and distribute the universal life force of the cosmos. In this individual session of Chakra Balancing, the practitioner will test the balance of the main chakra centres in the body, and use a hands-on approach to adjust the rhythm and redistribute the basic energies of the chakras.
Hands on Healing
Practitioner: Margaret Wilson, Josh Patel
In a Hands on Healing session the healer's hands are used to channel energy from a higher source to activate the body's own healing energies. This simple treatment brings the body, mind, and spirit into balance leaving you feeling deeply relaxed and refreshed.
Reiki
Practitioner: Julie Bremer
Reiki is an ancient healing art based on channelling the healing energy found in and around us. Reiki is a Japanese word meaning Universal Life Force. Reiki treatment helps to restore physical and emotional harmony as well as to accelerate the body’s natural healing process.
Reiki can:-
* Stimulate the immune system
* Balance subtle body energies
* Accelerate the body's own healing
Also, Reiki:-
* Is completely safe (even during pregnancy)
* Works very well with orthodox medicines
* Relieves stress and pain
Reiki is compatible with all treatments and therapies. During a treatment the recipient remains fully clothed while they experience subtle yet powerful Reiki energy.
Julie Bremer is a Reiki Master and has been practising for 8 years.
Hypnotherapy
Practitioner: Julie Bremer
Hypnotherapy involves the application of hypnosis for healing. The practice of Hypnotherapy dates back as far as the ancient civilisations of Egypt, India and China. Hypnosis is not a state of sleep; it is a state of deep relaxation where the client is more receptive to assimilating an idea or a set of ideas.
Hypnotherapy can help us to: -
* Stop smoking
* Lose weight
* Reduce stress
* Overcome anxiety, fears and phobias
* Improve confidence and self esteem
* Improve concentration and memory recall
* Improve relationships
* Enhance performance
* Eliminate bad habits
* Remove blocks and Enhance creativity.
During a Hypnotherapy session the client remains conscious, yet has access to the unconscious mind, gaining its
support in healing and changes. Hypnotherapy is a profoundly relaxing and beneficial therapy.
Zero Balancing
Practitioner: Josh Patel
Zero Balancing is a gentle, yet powerful, way of integrating Western scientific knowledge of body structure with an Eastern understanding of energy and healing. Based on principles of nature, Zero Balancing can improve body function and relieve physically held tension. On a more general level, Zero Balancing is particularly valuable in dealing with stress, and promoting the quietening and centring of mind-body integration. Zero Balancing can help people adapt to current changes as well as to resolve past traumas. People who receive Zero Balancing may move into a new state of awareness from which mental habits and old patterns of emotional response are released.

Holistic Spa Facials
Practitioner: Sue Kamolwan
An Holistic Facial is a treatment that is applied to the face, neck and shoulders in a sequence of moves designed to condition the skin and awaken the body's healing process. The face, neck and shoulders are important energy centres within the body which frequently become tense, and the holistic nature of the massage serves to restore the balance. By combining my beauty skills with Indian Head and Indian Face Massage, I believe I have developed a truly holistic experience. Indian Face Massage is a proven natural rejuvenation therapy involving small massage movements over the face and neck - you can almost see the results immediately! All my products contain natural ingredients and are not tested on animals. A £5 supplement applies to cover the products used.
Sue is a qualified practitioner of holistic therapies and has been practising for over 10 years.
Emotional Freedom Technique
Practitioner: Anne Todd
Emotional Freedom Technique (or EFT – "temple tapping") as featured on TV by Paul McKenna, "Richard & Judy", "A Life Coach Less Ordinary" and in the national press, is a quick and effective therapy to help with relationships, anxiety, phobias, addictions, trauma and lack of confidence. EFT encourages expression of honest feelings while tapping on key acupressure points (on the face and hands) to send pulses through the body’s meridian system, counteracting disruptions caused by negativity or anxiety. You’ll learn how to tap on yourself to keep on track, or for a boost of confidence whenever you need it.
